With EDFs announcement earlier in the year that it will start operating the UK’s first new nuclear plant by 2017 - and the deal which saw the company take over British Energy and its 8 UK nuclear reactors, - it’s not difficult to see why the lack of skills in the nuclear sector is very high on the industry’s agenda.
There is an obvious answer - to look at transferable skills - a solution that many energy companies talk enthusiastically about - but that few, in reality, will actually commit to.
